Achtung! Sein und Werden

I am putting together a one-off issue of Sein und Werden to be sold at MAPS – the music/lit/art/poetry festival taking place in my home town at the end of May.
I would therefore like to put out a general call for submissions.Anyone and everyone can submit. Here are a few things to consider:
- fiction, poetry, scripts, essays, photography and artwork can be submitted.
- deadline 1st MAY 2008
- this issue will be unthemed.
However, the usual criteria remain. Please familiarize yourself withthe magazine before submitting if you haven’t done so already. It is available online so it’s not gonna cost you anything.

I want the usual hard and fast no-nonsense material. I want Henry Miller, Hubert Selby Jr, William Burroughs, Raymond Chandler, Georges Bataille, Sartre, Cindy Sherman, Diane Arbus, Djuna Barnes, Frank Wedekind, Lydia Lunch, Breton, Luis Bunuel…
I want sex. Filth. Corruption. I don’t want pieces on religion unlessthey’re blasphemous.I’m not interested in politics unless its sordid.I like existential musings.I don’t like romance.Unless it’s filthy!
- Please send all submissions as doc or rtf attachments. NOT in the body of the email.
- 3000 words max for prose
- no word limit for poems but please send no more than 3 at a time
- Images should be at a minimum resolution of 300 dpi/ppi with the longest edge of the image no longer than 8 inches/20 centimeters and attached as jpegs.
- IMPORTANT
Please write MAPS submission in the subject line of your email.You can still send submissions in to the sein, cos, tan issue, but this may be slightly delayed (only by a few weeks!)
- previously published work is fine. I am just after the best of the best for this issue. The cream of the crop etc. Just let me know wherethe work was previously published.
- include a bio (optional) with your submission. Please make it a maximum of 350 characters, inc spaces.
- please indent paragraphs rather than leave line breaks
- if possible the text should be in times new roman size 11, single spaced. (yes, I’m aware at the moment that the sub guidelines online
differ slightly. I am on to it.)
- you might not hear back about your submission till the deadline is passed.
