ANGEL OF DARKNESS
by Debbie Bird
He smiles with uncertainty as she takes his hand.
Dark angel of the night had come.
Such sinisiter beauty he’d never seen,
But the grotesqueness touched his inner soul.
With a quickening pulse he follows.
Unprepared and unaware,
Like the foolish child he’s mesmerised.
Her talon fingers hold their grip.
Indentations beginning to appear.
He feels no pain as blood rises.
Flesh being pierced as her eyes hold his gaze.
The wounds grow deeper
Allowing the flow to ooze through.
Seductively she kisses his wrists
And feels her teeth beginning to form.
He groans and closes his eyes.
Giving into her sucking.
Slowly, confidently, she trails her tongue across his chest
Till the throbbing vein in his neck protudes.
Then, with parted lips she plunges.
Sinking in fast.
She begins to feast
While he cries out into the unknown audience.
For a few moments his organ rises,
But alas, he sinks to his knees,
And lets death’s sleep take him.

we think you have been deeply hurt in love. and the prose is your way of coming to terms with it, or you are into s and m. very thought provoking and sinister. who are the unknown audience?

Hi! Thank you so much for your comment! The poem was inspired from being told, “oi! you’ve left a mark on my neck”… so no s and m there I’m afraid. And no idea on the unknown audience I was just thinking of vampires and the words tumbled out.
