Beach Poem 1#
by Joseph Ridgwell
Swinging in a yellow hammock
Rocking gently back and forth
On the fringes of a lonely beach
Listening to nocturnal water music
Created by endless small waves crashing on the shore
And jungle leaf symphonies rustling in cool sea breezes all around
*
Viewing a moon on the run, seventeen gleaming stars
And strange clouds that drift hauntingly across the sky
I begin wondering if someone else had ever lay in this old yellow hammock
Watching the same scene ten thousand midnight’s ago
And if they too felt like me
That is as close as man can get to returning to the womb

Great poem! I like to be at the sea and enjoyed reading it.
