Iliac Crests

Both iliac crests have been cut open now,
donating some of their bone mass
to be fused to and enhance the strength
of my aging degenerating lumbar spine.
So now there’s a balance in my bones,
a symmetry of pain, particularly
when it rains or the fog comes rolling
in off the ocean or from someplace else.
