Kalina
by Linda Rosenkrans
Her eyes
Cold
Black
Lava rocks
Surrounded
By white coral
Sparsely dusted
With green
Olivine beaches
Her teardrops
Captured by
Past
Volcanic craters
Assist her
Before the next
Tropical depression
The trades
They carry
Her orchid’s
Ambrosia
To expectant
Mainland butterflies
Awaiting her return.
