Beat you to it! Gotta drink in my hand right now...

And my heart spins like a coin on a card players table

until finally it stops

and I can find my solace in the bitter sediment

at the bottom of a glass.

yeah, yr right, fuck taxes, let's get back to the poetry

Load the literary guns and keep searching for the lost elation..................

All the sadness in the world stalks the land like a death heron in winter..................

All the money disappears into my mouth as the sun sinks low and ominous across the domain...........

Now I'm off down the boozer to get pissed

Adios

No UV, I liked your comment, that's why I responded.

Well, TV is generally a bit shit, but it's the licence fee that bugs me, not television itself. I mean, what the fuck is that all about? The sooner it's abolished the better.

If the BBC really is the best television in the world then it will survive without such a extortinate tax on the poor.

joe r

I myself have never paid for a TV licence and never will

And if anyone from the BBC debt collection dept is reading this, get a proper job you useless hunks of shit.

Are you saying I don't usually make sensible comments?!?!

Hmm, I don't know.

I like to think I do...at least on occasions.

As far as the TV is concerned; I like classic cinema so I have a big screen to watch films. I don't even bother with a television. The only broadcast TV I see is at friend's houses.

What's this, a sensible comment?

The BBC poetry season was always going to be a crock of shit, because nobody working in a position of power at the BBC understands or appreciates poetry. Those overpaid parasites wouldn't recognise a decent stanza if it glassed them in the face and severed their fleshy jugulars.

This is, of course, along with the fact that it is an anchronism that has no place in the modern world, is why no one should should even consider paying their TV licence.

The BBC poetry season, from what I have seen, has been a crock of crapola. The ususual mainstream hoo ha with poets I want to kick in the face.

Of course, Carol Ann Duffy has now parked her fat backside on the pot and is preparing herself to stink the place out with the same old boring shite.

This does leave Simon Armitage free to wander. I can only hope he wanders into my local where I can break his fucking elbows.

Load the guns is on my list, however. I like what I've seen of Joseph Ridgwell. And I like the design of those Blackheath editions. They're quite reminiscent of the early Black Sparrow ltd runs.
