Pet Epistemology
by Francis Raven
No little dog says who I am.
Some tortilla chips, corn, eggplants,
chili sauce, tomatoes, green pepper,
and other liquids
define me.
A little dog might know me without my knowledge.
But if I know a little dog I’ll probably know it.
Unless: self deception.
Some work with equations.
Several variables.
A little dog juggles,
shits on magazines.

no big dog says who we are
no big dog can commentate
Some beads
some string
a superstition from south america
a memory
a belief
a defiance, ties like rope
to a rock.
big dog cocks his ears
and looks.
