Revolution

by U.V.Ray

staring from the window
of a corner café

there is no release

from the monotony of grey
november streets
scarred with the contortions
of so many desolate lives

& starvation is a dish best served cold

when the only things that ever alternate
are traffic lights & corporate ad
campaigns

because nothing changes in times

when the revolution wont even make headlines

& in actuality less likely
in view of the fact
that

desire for insurrection
diminishes in the
flood

of banal tv commercials

& words become mere abstractions
that drip from young rebellious
lips

to support concepts they want you
to believe have solid
& wholesome
foundations
but its quite simple

whole armies are mobilised
to protect internal finances
(one way or another)

& any other reason propped up
as legitimate validation

is plain & simple subterfuge

& if you have a problem
with that

then go & live in
a country that itself is politically ineffectual
& subject to persistent
rape

or

start the god damned revolution

get off your ass

either that

or just go back to your tv
& coca cola

go eat your mcdonalds

& shut the fuck up
