She Sets the Place on Fire
by Joseph Ridgwell
When she walks into a room
And all those heads turn
Blinded by the light
Jealous females
Eternal envy
And men don’t know what to do
For beauty walks in the night
And none can speak to her
They wouldn’t know what to say
For she has set the place on fire
And fire burns, hot to the touch
Lethal and beautiful
Like the jungle tiger
An eagle in flight
A nightingale’s song
The lion’s roar
Beautiful and damned
And then gone forever
