vision as in see
faithful friendship
night and day
one way company
let’s say
it takes our dreams away
replaces them with
silly thrills
tells us what to think
and say
a millions ways
to phrase old bill
it casts a spell
that saps the will
a trap that’s set
on cold hard sell
now be quiet
closed and still
as it circles
for the kill
shiny things
that money buys
over and over
through different streams
& bit by bit
we slowly die
staring starkly
at a screen
switch on
zone out
lose the plot
unable to discern
good from bad
& stuff like that
that we can confirm
