I don't think many of us can truly call ourselves beat anyway - both myself and Sean work in financial services - hardly beat professions! We thought long and hard whether to have affiliate links and ads on the site - and we'd love in theory to keep it ad free, but we have to pay to have the site hosted, and pay to keep the domain names etc, which doesn't come cheap...
