The London Short Fiction Award

by Sean McGahey

in association with the London Fringe Festival

London is looking to recognize emerging literary talent this year with The London Short Fiction Award 2010. Submissions are due to open on June 1st to enable new and vibrant talent to showcase their work within the London Fringe network ahead of the London Festival Fringe in August.

We’re seeking out inspired literary talent to create a piece that will provoke and illuminate the Fringe scene, taking on the theme of:

“Quick, before we come to our senses”

“This is a fantastic opportunity to not only display your talents on a credited platform but also join the Fringe family, a community of creative people that work to market, promote and support artists looking to break into the London scene or established authors looking to broaden their readership” Greg Tallent, Director, London Fringe

We’re looking to work closely with leading publishers, authors and editors to offer applicants the best chance of making the most out of the London Award. Build connections and get seen…a great first step on the road to becoming a published author.

Notes for applicants:

Shortlisted entries will be asked to perform at a reading event on August 11th at the Phoenix Artists Bar, Soho.
Finalists will be announced August 26th at the award ceremony held at the Waldorf Hilton Hotel, Aldwych.

We’re in discussion with Penguin General and Michael Joseph publishers to get some top class Judges – visit the website for confirmation.

Submissions open on June 1st and close on July 15th – please visit:
