Impressionist Artist
by Katy E. MurrShe dances in her shadow
And colours it with hues
That has a slant on the image
Reflected by her un-owned mirror
She makes herself this figure
That’s drowned in re-sounding laughter
Absorbed in everyone else, their lives
Their problems –
Not hers. To play this character
Like so many she loves to engage in
Makes everything what she thinks
Is easier, to avoid questions
Leave no space for the real retort
And no-one but one asks more
She’s left to herself, her fears taking over
Who she is behind the white veil
The girl without her make-up
What makes her who it’s easier to be
With groups like the patterns
Her hand deftly sketches, it lies
As she wants, all is coloured in primary
Where she wants to stay before moving
Onto the place,
Where her persona clings to with no mercy.
And colours it with hues
That has a slant on the image
Reflected by her un-owned mirror
She makes herself this figure
That’s drowned in re-sounding laughter
Absorbed in everyone else, their lives
Their problems –
Not hers. To play this character
Like so many she loves to engage in
Makes everything what she thinks
Is easier, to avoid questions
Leave no space for the real retort
And no-one but one asks more
She’s left to herself, her fears taking over
Who she is behind the white veil
The girl without her make-up
What makes her who it’s easier to be
With groups like the patterns
Her hand deftly sketches, it lies
As she wants, all is coloured in primary
Where she wants to stay before moving
Onto the place,
Where her persona clings to with no mercy.
